The plagues in Mitzraim/Egypt and Yah’s signs to Pharaoh and Isra’el that he is the owner of all creation, including human beings. Yah tells Moshe in Sh’mot/Exodus 12:12 that he is carrying out judgment on all the Elohei/gods/authorities of Mitzraim. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. (KJV) Also in Sh’mot 16:4-6, Then the LORD said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.” So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, “In the evening you will know that it was the LORD who brought you out of Egypt, (NIV) Yah tells us here that Isra’el need to get to know him too.
To many who claim to know scripture are constantly caught off guard by details contained in the writings which cause certain preconceived notions to be erroneous. There is not a single person who studies the Word who is without flaw in our knowledge of the Biblical text. This is why we need to constantly read and examine what is written, to acquire the understanding of stated information. Those who claim we do not need to seek a deeper awareness of Yah’s Word are deficient in wisdom. Aspects of the Hebrew, Aramaic, & Greek languages have nuances unfamiliar to individuals reading or hearing it in another language. These characteristics involve metaphors and other grammatical elements which can only be perceived by someone who has become familiar with how these features effect what the writers are trying to get across to the readers.
Every language has local and regional linguistic expressions which only those familiar with will understand. In English speaking areas of the world, these language features can cause consternation as someone from the UK can say something that an American will not fathom at all, as these terms are not meant to always be literal. If someone in the United States told me that what scripture says is to be taken solely by a modern western perspective, I would totally disagree. This is because even the English dialect spoken in the US has morphed/changed from what someone 200 years ago would have meant expressing it in their conversation. It is true of any countries who were established by European Colonial settlements ergo Spanish, French, etc., differ as local native languages influenced these dialects.
Take for example the Hebrew word Satan, this word today has become defined as an entity of supernatural existence. However satan simply means adversary/opponent and would be grammatically correct in describing two sports teams competing, they would each be a satan to the other. Likewise you can substitute nations, individuals, etc., and would be using the word appropriately. Satan is a neutral word and requires the context of a sentence or paragraph to inform us who or what is the satan. The satan we should not want to be is the one opposed to Yah’s will. And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again. And he said this plainly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” Mark 8:31-33 (ESV) Kefa/Peter did not realize Y’shua’s mission was not the one he envisioned, therefore not understanding this he rose in opposition to what the master had told him.
In Mitzraim, Pharaoh was a satan to Yah, Moshe, and all Isra’el; the reverse is true also, Yah was a satan to Pharaoh. But the displeasure of Elohim burned because he went, and the Messenger of יהוה stationed Himself in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him. B’midbar/Numbers 22:22 (ISR98) This verse directly shows Yah in opposition to the prophet Bilam/Balaam which the word adversary is the word satan. Most would not catch this unless they are familiar with Hebrew, whether through scholarship or access materials. If looking at the Hebrew text and one knows how to spell the word satan in Hebrew, then they will have no problem seeing it in the verse.
So by this criteria it does not require much to be a satan to Yah. Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. Isaiah 5:20 (DRA), “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ Mattityahu/Matthew 7:23 (NAS) These passages clearly show that even believers can be satans. It is easy to see this when we take into account the section dealing with Kefa and Y’shua as in the above mentioned Mark 8:31-33. Remember, to be a satan to Yah means going against Torah.
In the fifth chapter of Mattityahu Y’shua begins a discourse before a significant crowd on a hill in the Galil and explains what he has come to do. Troubling in this speaking engagement is the section of verses 17-19 as he tells the audience he did not come to change Torah or the Prophets. Anyone reading this should be alarmed as he is speaking to his own people, reminding them of the instructions for being Yah’s people. Another disturbing aspect comes from the modern thought line interpreting the Greek word ginomai/fulfill as doing away with or its been lived up to. Sadly the word ginomai has to do with coming into being, causing to be, to become, etc., however most seem to believe ‘to an end’ is the definition. The idea that ‘to an end’ means to do away with defeats the purpose of reaching a goal. As Sha’ul refers to running a race and crossing the finish line does not mean there will never be another race to run.
If Y’shua is the goal/end of the Torah/Law, then anyone who reaches that goal would never have to do it again. Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Everyone staying in Him does not sin. Everyone sinning has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one lead you astray. The one doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. The one doing sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil. Everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin, because His seed stays in him, and he is powerless to sin, because he has been born of Elohim. Yochanan Alef/1 John 3:4-9 (ISR98) Since Yochanan and the other writers of the B’rit Chadashah /New Testament are still warning us not to sin as followers of Y’shua, then why are people today declaring that you cannot sin anymore? Clearly these writers are penning their accounts after Y’shua’s death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven; then why is it taught it is a different standard today? Is this not the idea of adding to or taking from the text?
The idea that some profess that the Torah was something to be kept only prior to Y’shua’s death and is abolished afterwards defeats all the instruction that Y’shua himself gave. Yochanan 14:15-18 (HNV) If you love me, keep my mitzvot/commandments. I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever, — the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you. As Y’shua instructs those keeping the commandments will receive the Ruach/Spirit to help us comply and if we reject the truth … the Ruach won’t help us.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it. Yochanan 1:1-5 (HNV), You killed the author of life, but God raised him to life. And we are witnesses of this fact!” Acts 3:15 (NLT) Here both Kefa and Yochanan assert that Y’shua is the part of Yah that created and the Father was in charge. Thereby anything in the beginning must still be true in the end. With this in mind, since the Kingdom of Elohim is eternal there can be no conclusion or else nothing is true.
The first satan in scripture appears in the garden as a snake and disputes Chavah/Eve’s claim that she and Adam cannot eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This deception comes in the form of the alleged equality with Elohim leading to the false idea of the immortal soul. This places humanity in opposition to the creator as it takes away the idea that he gives us life. The first death sentence declared is pertaining to contradicting “on the day you eat of it you will surely die”. The human being forgot where he came from “dust you are and to dust you will return”. The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. B’reshit/Genesis 2:7 (NIV) Life is given to Adam, Adam is not life. The satan says life is what you are as opposed to you have life. Who do we choose to believe, Yah or ourselves.
So who are the anti-messiahs? If anyone is still looking for their arrival you have already been deceived. They have been here for thousands of years. The opponent is mankind pursuing mankind’s own government. And יהוה Elohim said, “See, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever…” so יהוה Elohim sent him out of the garden of Ěḏen to till the ground from which he was taken, and He drove the man out. And He placed keruḇim at the east of the garden of Ěḏen, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. B’reshit 3:22-24 (ISR98), And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And no longer shall there be any curse, and the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. And they shall see His face, and His Name shall be upon their foreheads. Revelation 22:1-4 (ISR98)
As eternal life is tied to the Tree of Life, then absolute immortality is not scriptural. Sha’ul tells us What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I will tell you a mystery! We will not all die, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must put on imperishability, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When this perishable body puts on imperishability, and this mortal body puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will be fulfilled: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 (NRSV) Notice Sha’ul states perishable/corruptible has to put on imperishability/incorruptibly … not we become but we are clothed with immortality. Always keep in mind our brother Sha’ul is speaking in Pharisaic terminology. Remember where life comes from, Yah.
