Who Loves Ewe?

Then Adonai said to me: “Go again! Love a woman who is loved by a companion and committing adultery—just as Adonai has loved the Bnei-Yisrael, while they were turning to other gods and loving raisin cakes.” So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver and an omer and a half of barley. Then I said to her: “For many days you must stay with me. You must not practice prostitution. You must not have a man, and I will be the same toward you.” For Bnei-Yisrael will remain for many days without king, without prince, without sacrifice, without sacred pillar, and without ephod or teraphim. Afterwards, Bnei-Yisrael will return, and they will seek Adonai their God and David their king. Then they will turn in awe to Adonai and to His goodness in the last days. Hoshea 3:1-5 (TLV)

The premise of the above chapter is for a husband to go and retrieve his adulterous wife. Remember, the Torah tells us there are two fates for a wife who is unfaithful. The first is, she is sent away by her husband and if she marries another man … she can never remarry her first husband. Second, she is brought before the judges of their community and if found guilty – she is executed. Thus how does the house of Isra’el/Efraim return to her husband according to the instructions?

There is only one way a woman can legally remarry her first husband and that is if he dies. Hence for remarriage to occur, the man must be returned to the living/resurrection. According to the Torah and the Prophets, life comes from obedience. This is where we must come to understand what favor/grace actually is, this does not mean we never make mistakes. In His mercy we receive the opportunity to repent and be forgiven.

Take into account that the Father informs us that, the Lost Sheep will not return to Him until the latter days. We will be without a monarch, offerings, pillars, or idolatrous objects to worship. The passage of Scripture above is warning that the ten tribes will be seeking restoration with the Eternal but will not achieve their goal until they are purified. Following the cleansing of the Bride she will seek Yah, her authority is His Kingdom. King David represents the unity that will be established by the Eternal between the two houses of Isra’el.

One of the problems that the Northern Kingdom has is the following: “I will destroy my people because they are ignorant. You have refused to learn, so I will refuse to let you be my priests. You have forgotten the teachings of your Elohim, so I will forget your children. The more priests there are, the more they sin against me. So I will turn their glory into shame. They feed on the sins of my people, and they want them to do wicked things. So the priests will be punished like the people. I will punish them for their wicked ways and pay them back for what they have done. They will eat, but they’ll never be full. They will have sex with prostitutes, but they’ll never have children. They have abandoned Yahweh. Prostitutes, old wine, and new wine have robbed them of their senses. My people ask their wooden idols for help. A piece of wood tells them what to do. A spirit of prostitution leads them astray. They commit adultery by giving themselves to other gods. They offer sacrifices on mountaintops, and they burn incense on the hills under oaks, poplars, and other trees. They think that these trees provide good shade. That is why your daughters become prostitutes, and your daughters-in-law commit adultery. Yet, I will not punish your daughters when they become prostitutes or your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery. The men go to prostitutes and offer sacrifices with temple prostitutes. These foolish people will be trampled. Israel, you act like a prostitute. Don’t let Judah become guilty too. Don’t go to Gilgal. Don’t go to Beth Aven. Don’t take the oath, As Yahweh lives. The people of Israel are as stubborn as a bull. How can Yahweh feed them like lambs in an open pasture? The people of Ephraim have chosen to worship idols. Leave them alone! When they’re done drinking their wine, they continue to have sex with the prostitutes. Their rulers dearly love to act shamefully. The wind will carry them away in its wings, and their sacrifices will bring them shame. Hoshea 4:6-19 (NOG)

YHWH clearly states that the knowledge, the house of Isra’el rejected, is the Torah given to Moshe at Mount Sinai. The writings of the Prophets clearly espouse the instructions Moshe gave, as the reason the 12 tribes are judged for our sins and iniquities/lawlessness. If Y’shua constantly declares that his words come from his Father – then why do so many people believe he died so those rules would be abolished? The only words the Almighty has spoken are those of the Torah and the Prophets.

If the head of the household teaches his family that they are to study the Word of Scripture but then tells them that they do not have to live by those rules, what is accomplished? The five books given to Moshe are a proposal and wedding contract for the descendants of Ya’akov. As the husband is also part of the bride of the King, is he not also under the same marriage contract as a woman is? Men, we need to get over our macho-ism and remember all of Isra’el is part of the soon to be wife of the King.

If we teach others that we are in Covenant with יהוה, then any time we behave contrary to those guidelines … we are baring false witness to our marriage agreement. In other words, we would be trying to encourage a wife to be unfaithful. Is it possible to be part of the bride and not be guilty of providing false instructions to the spouse? Would this not be lying to ourselves about our marital status? Unfaithfulness to our mate is adultery.

Put a horn to your mouth. He comes like an eagle against the house of YAHWEH, because they have broken My covenant and have sinned against My Torah. Israel shall cry to Me, My Elohim, we know You. Israel has thrown off good; the enemy shall pursue him. They have set up kings, but not by Me. They have made rulers, but I did not know. They made idols for themselves with their silver and their gold, so that they may be cut off. O Samaria, your calf has cast you off. My anger is kindled against them. Until when will they not attain purity? For it also came from Israel. The craftsman made it, but it is not Elohim. For the calf of Samaria shall be splinters. For they sow the wind, and they reap the whirlwind. He has no stalk; the bud shall make no flour. If it does make it, strangers will swallow it up. Israel is swallowed up. They are now among the nations as a vessel in which is no pleasure. For they have gone up to Assyria, a wild donkey alone by himself. Ephraim has hired lovers. Also, though they have hired among the nations, now I will gather them. And they began to be few, from the burden of the king of rulers. Because Ephraim has made many altars to sin, they are altars to him to sin. I will write for him the great things of My Torah. They were counted as a stranger. They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of My offerings, and they eat.YAHWEH did not accept them. Now He will remember their iniquity and punish their sins. They shall return to Egypt. For Israel has forgotten (Aleph/Tav) his Maker, and builds temples. And Judah has multiplied fortified cities. But I will send a fire on his cities, and it shall burn up her palaces. Hoshea 8:1-14 (HRB)

In the very first verse, in the above chapter, Abba states that the house of Isra’el overstepped their rights and violated the Covenant with Him. Likewise we rebelled against His Instructions. We cry out to Him as our Authority yet reject His Will/Torah. We make leaders for ourselves and bow down to our selfish goals and desires. These are our idols. We sow the wind and harvest the whirlwind, our crop bares no fruit. We have been scattered among the nations and are held in no esteem by the people we live amongst. This is because YHUH has provided us His Torah but we regarded it as strange/unfamiliar.

By treating the first five books of the Bible as just stories to gather moral values from, we tear up our marriage contract. This means as a divorcee, we have to get out of the house of YHVH. So when we drink the cup and then do contrary to the marriage vow we made … it puts us in violation of that Covenant. We become a whoring wife when we do this. Our husband has stated over and over that He will not tolerate an adulterous spouse.

Return to Yahweh your God, [O] Israel, for you have stumbled because of your sin. Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Say to him, “Take away all guilt; accept good, and we will offer the fruit of our lips. Assyria will not save us; we will not ride on horses, and we will say no more, “Our God,” to the work of our hands because in you [the] fatherless child finds mercy. I will heal their disloyalty; I will love them freely because my anger has turned back from them. I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like the lily plant, and he will strike his roots like the [trees of] Lebanon. His new plant shoots will spread out; his splendor will be like the olive tree, and his scent like the [trees of] Lebanon. {They will again dwell} in my shadow; they will grow grain and they will blossom like the plant vine; his fame [will be] like the wine of Lebanon. [O] Ephraim, {what have I to do} with idols? I myself have answered and looked after you. I am like a luxuriant cypress; your fruit comes from me. Who [is] wise that he can understand these [things]? Who is discerning that he knows them? The ways of Yahweh [are] right, and [the] righteous walk in them; but transgressors stumble in them. Hoshea 14:2(1)-10(9) (LEB)

In the very first verse, in the passage above, the ten tribes are asked to return to our Father יה. This requires us to humble ourselves and do His will … not our own. To be Kodesh/holy requires us to act according to the manner He establishes. Idolatry is doing our own thing contrary to the rules He has provided us with. The very first act of idolatry involved eating a piece of fruit. By not complying with the edict, to not consume that particular fruit, the Almighty was ignored. How many realize that what we eat can make us more idolatrous then many other things in this world can?

And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, “On the first day of the first month, you are to raise up the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting, and shall put in it the ark of the Witness, and screen the ark with the veil. And you shall bring in the table and arrange what belongs on it, and bring in the lampstand and light its lamps. And you shall set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the Witness, and put up the covering of the door to the Dwelling Place. And you shall set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting, and shall set the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and shall put water therein. And you shall set up the courtyard all around, and shall place the covering of the courtyard gate, and shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the Dwelling Place and all that is in it, and shall set it and all its utensils apart, and it shall be set-apart. And you shall anoint the altar of the burnt offering and all its utensils, and set the altar apart, and the altar shall be most set-apart. And you shall anoint the basin and its stand, and set it apart. And you shall bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting and wash them with water. And you shall put the set-apart garments on Aharon, and anoint him and set him apart to serve as priest to Me. And you shall bring his sons and put long shirts on them, and shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, and they shall serve as priests to Me. And their anointing shall be for them an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.” And Mosheh did according to all that יהוה had commanded him, so he did. And it came to be in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the Dwelling Place was raised up. And Mosheh raised up the Dwelling Place and placed its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its bars, and raised up its columns, and spread the tent over the Dwelling Place and put the covering of the tent on top of it, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. And he took the Witness and put it into the ark, and he put the poles through the rings of the ark, and put the lid of atonement on top of the ark, and brought the ark into the Dwelling Place, and placed the veil of the covering to screen off the ark of the Witness, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. And he put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the Dwelling Place, outside the veil, and set the bread in order upon it before יהוה, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. And he put the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the Dwelling Place, and lit the lamps before יהוה, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. And he put the gold altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the veil, and burned sweet incense on it, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. And he set up the covering to the door of the Dwelling Place. And he put the altar of burnt offering before the door of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. And he put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water therein for washing. And Mosheh, and Aharon, and his sons washed their hands and their feet with water from it, as they went into the Tent of Meeting, and as they came near the altar. They would wash, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. And he raised up the courtyard all around the Dwelling Place and the altar, and placed the covering of the courtyard gate. And Mosheh completed the work. And the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the esteem of יהוה filled the Dwelling Place. And Mosheh was not able to come into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud dwelt on it, and the esteem of יהוה filled the Dwelling Place. And when the cloud was taken up from above the Dwelling Place, the children of Yisra’ĕl went onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of יהוה was on the Dwelling Place by day, and fire was on it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Yisra’ĕl, in all their journeys. Sh’mot/Exodus 40:1-38 (ISR98)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had passed away, and the sea was no longer there. Also I saw the holy city, New Yerushalayim, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud voice from the throne say, “See! God’s Sh’khinah is with mankind, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and he himself, God-with-them, will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will no longer be any death; and there will no longer be any mourning, crying or pain; because the old order has passed away.” Then the One sitting on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new!” Also he said, “Write, ‘These words are true and trustworthy!’” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the ‘A’ and the ‘Z,’ the Beginning and the End. To anyone who is thirsty I myself will give water free of charge from the Fountain of Life. He who wins the victory will receive these things, and I will be his God, and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the untrustworthy, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those involved with the occult and with drugs, idol-worshippers, and all liars — their destiny is the lake burning with fire and sulfur, the second death.” One of the seven angels having the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues approached me and said, “Come! I will show you the Bride, the Wife of the Lamb.” He carried me off in the Spirit to the top of a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city, Yerushalayim, coming down out of heaven from God. It had the Sh’khinah of God, so that its brilliance was like that of a priceless jewel, like a crystal-clear diamond. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates; at the gates were twelve angels; and inscribed on the gates were the names of the twelve tribes of Isra’el. There were three gates to the east, three gates to the north, three gates to the south and three gates to the west. The wall of the city was built on twelve foundation-stones, and on these were the twelve names of the twelve emissaries of the Lamb. The angel speaking with me had a gold measuring-rod with which to measure the city, its gates and its wall. The city is laid out in a square, its length equal to its width. With his rod he measured the city at 1,500 miles, with length, width and height the same. He measured its wall at 216 feet by human standards of measurement, which the angel was using. The wall was made of diamond and the city of pure gold resembling pure glass. The foundations of the city wall were decorated with all kinds of precious stones — the first foundation stone was diamond, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh turquoise and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, with each gate made of a single pearl. The city’s main street was pure gold, transparent as glass. I saw no Temple in the city, for Adonai, God of heaven’s armies, is its Temple, as is the Lamb. The city has no need for the sun or the moon to shine on it, because God’s Sh’khinah gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. Its gates will never close, they stay open all day because night will not exist there, and the honor and splendor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure may enter it, nor anyone who does shameful things or lies; the only ones who may enter are those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Chazon/Revelation 21:1-27 (CJB)

Always keep in mind that the first century writings were written by Hebrews … not Gentiles. Therefore everything is based on the Torah and the Prophets. So, where is the only place in Scripture that tells us the definition of what is unclean? Only in the first five books, of the Word, can we find this message. Would we have the audacity of serving our husband a meal of unclean food? Consider the statement where Yah says He does not change.
