The Adulteress Whore Wife

And one of the seven messengers who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying to me, “Come, I shall show you the judgment of the great whore sitting on many waters, with whom the sovereigns of the earth committed whoring, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her whoring.” And he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast covered with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup filled with abominations and the filthiness of her whoring, and upon her forehead a name written, a secret: BAḆEL THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE WHORES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the set-apart ones, and with the blood of the witnesses of יהושע. And having seen her, I marvelled – greatly marvelled! And the messenger said to me, “Why did you marvel? Let me explain to you the secret of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. “The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the pit of the deep and goes to destruction. And those dwelling on the earth, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, shall marvel when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. “Here is the mind having wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. “And there are seven sovereigns: five have fallen, and one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he has to remain a little while. “And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes to destruction. “And the ten horns which you saw are ten sovereigns who have not yet received a reign, but receive authority as sovereigns with the beast for one hour. “They have one mind, and they shall give their power and authority to the beast. “They shall fight with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for He is Master of masters and Sovereign of sovereigns. And those with Him are called, and chosen, and trustworthy.” And he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and crowds, and nations, and tongues. “And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these shall hate the whore, and lay her waste and naked, and eat her flesh and burn her with fire. “For Elohim did give it into their hearts to do His mind, to be of one mind, and to give their reign to the beast, until the words of Elohim shall be accomplished. “And the woman whom you saw is that great city having sovereignty over the sovereigns of the earth.” Chazon/Revelation 17:1-18 (ISR98)

In the above section from the revelation given to Yochanan/John, we have unfortunately inherited a mindset that is neither Semitic nor Hebraic. Therefore those reading the writings of the B’rit Chadashah adopt a more western or Greek mindset when reading these accounts. Most who do so neglect the fact that all the writers were from the Mid-East and their perspective would not be European. By doing so they fail to go back and examine the Torah and the prophets to derive the proper perspective. Continuing this mistake so many students of the first century writings disconnect Y’shua and his followers from their roots and the land that they lived in. This also causes them to place a eurocentric mindset in their interpretations of scripture, thus applying a totally alien context to their studies.

As the focus of the Torah is the descendants of Avraham, Yitz’chak, and Ya’akov; all instructions are to be applied to these people. Each set of descendants of the three patriarchs have their own rules and regulations to live according to, the greater set of these ordinances are over Isra’el. The offspring of Ya’akov are charged with being lights to all the other nations of the earth. This is what chosen actually means, we have an assignment to live in a manner that will cause others to want to emulate us, as they see the benefits of so doing. Unfortunately many within Isra’el and without have erroneously jumped to the conclusion that Isra’el gets something nobody else does. This is a grievous mistake and should be corrected always, never just let it stand.

And Elohim said to him, Your name is Jacob; your name will not anymore be called Jacob, but Israel will be your name. And He called his name Israel. And Elohim said to him, I am El Shaddai; be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations shall be from you. And kings shall go forth from your loins. And the land which I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, I will give it to you; and after you I will give the land to your seed. B’reshit/Genesis 35:10-12 (HRB) As Yah has spoken to Ya’akov he has informed him that his descendants will become gentiles/goyim in the future, which means they will leave or depart from the covenant. We cannot be in covenant and out of covenant at the same time, it is impossible. When we drink the cup we’re actually taking an oath as citizens of the Kingdom and this should not be taken lightly. This cup is swearing an oath of allegiance to a government. Once we have done so we are swearing that we submit to the legal authority of that government and will abide by its judgments. Too many have been taught this is some superficial mental exercise and has no actual requirements attached to it, this is idolatry. Y’shua clearly warned us we cannot serve two masters, and this is what many have been taught is OK to do. So many believe that simply acknowledging the existence of the Master is all that we need to do, this is untrue and is part of the great deception. One day we will all have to answer for our actions here in this age and no one will be exempt from that judgment. Either we will be declared innocent or guilty, but there will be a verdict.

Who are the 10 Kings is an interesting dilemma, has only those in the covenant can be in violation of it. Not everyone is in this covenant yet virtually all who have ever studied scripture have been told the opposite. Based on this faulty premise so many are unable to understand some of the statements made by Y’shua, Sha’ul, and the other writers of the B’rit Chadashah. As Sha’ul states those outside Torah will be judged by a torah they are already aware of, this instruction begins in the garden and continues up until the Mashiach establishes his reign. By not taking into account the various factors mentioned in the Tanakh, many cannot understand the Revelation chapters 21 and 22; who those are outside the gates. Also the New Yerusha’layim is not heaven nor is hell outside the gates, that teaching is nothing but pure allegory made up by men who did not believe scripture.

A major problem occurs when so many people have been taught that all Israel are Jews which is not scriptural at all. This creates a huge obstacle when the same individuals try to understand Yirme’yahu/Jeremiah and his constant references to the house of Isra’el and the house of Y’hudah. The renewed covenant Yah promises his people requires all 12 tribes participation or it has not occurred. A source of a lot of feuding is the idea that all the returning people will be the same racial type, as in all one skin color, this is not Biblical as Yah warned he would scatter us among the nation’s because of our disobedience. Salvation and Repentance are two different things not all one, as it is frequently taught. Returning home is a promise, staying there requires obeying the King.

Mashiach did not come nor will he return to gather those who practice his favorite religion, as he does not have one. He is looking for a people to walk in his Father’s Way, not introducing our own agendas and scams. Throughout human history we have made the mistake of honoring him with our words, but at the same time acting totally opposite of what we say. Yesha’yahu mentions this in his prophetic writing and is quoted by Y’shua as he calls down the hypocrisy of those who are two faced. Saying one thing and doing another is not the way we honor Yah. The Prince will never tell us the instructions from the King are no longer valid, as this would cause the Prince to be a traitor.

When the Lord began to speak by Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea: “Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry And children of harlotry, For the land has committed great harlotry By departing from the Lord.” Hoshea 1:2 (NKJV) “Plead with your mother, plead–for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband–that she put away her harlotry from her face, and her adultery from between her breasts; lest I strip her naked and make her as in the day she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and set her like a parched land, and slay her with thirst. Upon her children also I will have no pity, because they are children of harlotry. For their mother has played the harlot; she that conceived them has acted shamefully. For she said, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.’ Hoshea 2:2-5 (RSV) The LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman loved by another, and an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the children of Yisra’el, though they turn to other gods, and love cakes of raisins.” So I bought her for myself for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer and a half of barley. I said to her, “You shall stay with me many days. You shall not play the prostitute, and you shall not be with any other man. I will also be so toward you.” For the children of Yisra’el shall abide many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without sacred stone, and without efod or idols. Afterward the children of Yisra’el shall return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days.
Hoshea 3:1-5 (HNV)

“When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son”. Hoshea 11:1 (NIV) I know Ephraim; Israel doesn’t escape my eye; for now Ephraim you have acted like a prostitute; Israel is defiled.  Their deeds don’t allow them to return to their God, because the spirit of prostitution is within them, and they don’t know the LORD. Hoshea 5:3-4 (CEB) In the house of Isra’el I have seen a horrible thing; whoring is found there in Efrayim, Isra’el is defiled. Hoshea 6:10 (CJB) Manasseh [thirsts for the blood of his brother] Ephraim, and Ephraim [for that of] Manasseh; but together they are against Judah. For all this, [God’s] anger is not turned away, but His hand is still stretched out [in judgment]. Yesha’yahu/Isaiah 9:21 (AMP)

When the King tells the Prince that He may go and get his wife, she will not be a whore. The Torah specifically informs us that a woman practicing prostitution and convicted is executed, therefore the guilty woman must have her crime forgiven and the price paid. Y’shua, son of Elohim, carried out a mission that permits the adulterous wife to remarry her first husband, this requires that the first husband dies. Since this remarriage can only take place when both spouses are alive the dead husband must be resurrected for this to occur. The Lost Sheep of the House of Isra’el are the 10 tribes of the Northern Kingdom and they were divorced and married another man, Ba’al. The question in this context is how many Ba’al’s has she married? Also a misconception has been introduced pertaining to the Jews and their legitimacy in the relationship with Yah, as they were never divorced even though they committed the same acts as the Northern Kingdom. Accusations pertaining to their identity have been issued many times throughout history, regardless of whether those are true that Torah clearly states any foreigner who joins Isra’el and keeps its laws becomes part of the nation. I do not share, what I consider to be, the false accusation such as the one presented in the previous sentences to be legitimate; I simply offer what Yah said is His desire.

The message in this passage clearly informs us that up until the return of Mashiach most of his people will still be part of the Whore of Babylon. Personally I have never understood why are people who are supposed to be humble cannot admit to the one thing that scripture says we must do in the last days and that is to acknowledge our sins and our fathers sins. Only pride and arrogance allow us to think that we are innocent when it comes to our part in the restoration of our people. Y’shua himself taught us in the prayer example to confess our sins every day and this also requires us to forgive those who have committed those acts against us. Sadly the false idea that a prayer covers us forever has allowed us to deceive ourselves pertaining to our guilt. Repentance is an action not a thought, which means we must turn back to His instructions and live by them.

According to all the passages in scripture pertaining to adultery, prostitution, whoredom, or all promiscuous marital relationships pertains to obeying another god. Sha’ul reminds us in his letter to the Ephesians in chapter five: But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints; nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Ephesians 5:3-5 (ASV) A marriage vow includes the promise of being faithful to the one you are becoming espoused to, this means you agree with the person you exchange the vow with. If one does not mean what they say in the marriage ceremony then why go to the trouble to speak lies. The drinking of the cup is also part of getting married; if you do not agree as the bride, with your groom, then why marry them? Too many participate in this remembrance and are not aware of the consequences that drinking this cup has, because it is a blessing and a curse. Honoring the marriage covenant brings the blessing while casting it aside invites the curse.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast refused knowledge, I will also refuse thee that thou shalt be no Priest to me: and seeing thou hast forgotten the Law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hoshea 4:6 (GNV) O Yisra’ĕl, return to יהוה your Elohim, for you have stumbled by your crookedness. Take words with you, and return to יהוה. Say to Him, “Take away all crookedness, and accept what is good, and we render the bulls of our lips. Ashshur does not save us. We do not ride on horses, nor ever again do we say to the work of our hands, ‘Our mighty ones.’ For the fatherless finds compassion in You.” “I shall heal their backsliding, I shall love them spontaneously, for My displeasure has turned away from him. I shall be like the dew to Yisra’ĕl. He shall blossom like the lily, and cast out his roots like Leḇanon. His branches shall spread, and his splendour shall be like an olive tree, and his fragrance like Leḇanon. Those who dwell under his shadow shall return. They shall revive like grain, and blossom like the vine, and become as fragrant as the wine of Leḇanon. What more has Ephrayim to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after him. I am like a green cypress tree, your fruit comes from Me.” Who is wise and understands these words, discerning and knows them? For the ways of יהוה are straight, and the righteous walk in them, but the transgressors stumble in them.
Hoshea 14:2(1)-10(9) (ISR98)

Actions have consequences therefore we should all be aware that the routines and rituals that we participate in are not just random acts but have great responsibility attached to them. Remembering something requires knowing what it is about, many do not take the time to examine the acts they perform mindlessly. Ignorance is not bliss when you actually know the truth, but pretend you have no knowledge of what you are partaking of. Violating the Covenant is the same as a divorce, is this what we really want?

The wages of sin is death but the gift of Elohim is eternal life. Remember wages are something we earn we do not inherit them. In this case death is the paycheck. I do not know about you that this is one paycheck I do not want to cash. We need to be serious about our relationship with Yah as this is life and death. Let us keep in mind the brevity of this matter and seek to be that faithful wife and not the lustful spouse, as the repercussions of our choice will affect our future. May we encourage one another to walk in the manner that honors our husband and does not disrespect Him.

Shalom Aleichem!
