Are Ewe Listening?

“These are the laws you are to set before them: If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything.” Sh’mot/Exodus 21:1-2 (NIV) This opening introduction begins to explain how to keep a right relationship with Yah. He is the creator and owns every bit of creation, especially human-beings. Nowhere in Scripture is man-kind ever considered immortal without the Tree of Life. As long as humanity continues to believe in the immortal soul, we will be deceived as to our condition … we die because of sin.

The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh after king Zedekiah {made} a covenant with all the people who [were] in Jerusalem to proclaim release to them, to let go each one his [male] slave and each one his female slave, the Hebrew and the free Hebrew, [so that] no one among the Judeans [should] enslave his fellow countryman. And all the officials and all the people obeyed, who had entered into the covenant to let go each one his [male] slave and each one his female slave, not enslaving them again, and they obeyed and they let [them] go. But {afterward} they turned back and they brought back the [male] slaves and the female slaves whom they had let go free, and they subdued them as [male] slaves and female slaves. And the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, {saying}, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: ‘I {made} a covenant with your ancestors on the day of my bringing them out from the land of Egypt, from [the] house of slaves, {saying}, At [the] end of seven years you must let go each one his fellow countryman, the Hebrew who has been sold to you and who has served you six years, and you must let him go free from you. But your ancestors did not listen to me, and they did not incline their ears. And you turned back {recently} and you did right in my eyes, to proclaim release each one to his neighbor, and you {made} a covenant {before me} in the house that is called {by} my name. But you turned back and you profaned my name when you brought back each one his [male] slave and each one his female slave, whom you had let go free according to their desire, and you subdued them to be to you as [male] slaves and as female slaves.’ {Therefore} thus says Yahweh, ‘You have not listened to me to proclaim release each one to his fellow countryman and each one to his neighbor. Look, I [am] going to proclaim to you a release,’ {declares} Yahweh, ‘to the sword, to the plague, and to the famine, and I will make you a terror to all the kingdoms of the earth. And I will make the men who transgressed my covenant, who have not kept the words of the covenant that they {made} {before me}, [like] the calf which they cut in two and they passed between its parts– the officials of Judah, and the officials of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf– and I will give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of the seekers of their lives, and their dead bodies will become as food for the birds of the heavens and for the animals of the earth. And Zedekiah the king of Judah and his officials I will give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of the seekers of their lives, and into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, who retreated from you. Look, I [am] going to command,’ {declares} Yahweh, ‘and I will bring them back to this city, and they will fight against it, and they will capture it, and they will burn it with fire, and the towns of Judah I will make a desolation {without} an inhabitant.'” Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 34:8-22 (LEB)

The Navi/Prophet and Cohen/Priest Yirmeyahu is delivering the message of the Eternal to the governmental authorities of the house of Y’hudah. This proclamation is for the purpose of giving the upper class of the kingdom, an opportunity to change their ways. Unfortunately after freeing their poorer kinsman, of their debts, they decide to enslave their brothers once again. This entire matter is about exercising power over a weaker group within the same people.

Remember the following; over 250 years prior to this event the Northern Kingdom was delivered into the hands of the Assyrian Empire, for their transgression against Yah and their own brothers. Does anyone contemplate what sins the house of Isra’el committed? We are given only a few instances where specific violations are described. Since both kingdoms are descendants of Ya’akov, would it not be probable that a significant portion of their crimes against the Almighty are identical?

Many times the Father points out how the two kingdoms are as whoring sisters, to be described so similarly constitutes equal guilt of both parties. Within the family structure the Eternal declares that a daughter caught prostituting herself and being found guilty, was to be executed. Why does Yah not exercise His parental right and duty regarding His daughters? Is it because He desires their redemption?

Consider the following: “You are to do your work for six days, but on the seventh day you will rest, so that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and also the son of your handmaid and the outsider may be refreshed. With all the things that I have said to you, take heed. Make no mention of the names of other gods, and do not let them be heard in your mouth. Three times in the year you are to celebrate a festival for Me. You are to observe the Feast of Matzot. For seven days you will eat matzot as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Aviv, for that is when you came out from Egypt. No one is to appear before Me empty-handed. Also you are to observe the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors that you sow in the field, as well as the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather your crops from the field. Three times in the year all your men are to appear before Adonai Elohim. Do not offer the blood of My sacrifice with hametz. Nor is the fat of My feast to remain out all night until the morning. Bring the choicest firstfruits of your land into the House of Adonai your God. Do not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.” Sh’mot 23:12-19 (TLV)

The eight Mo’edim/Appointed Times established by the Eternal are a perpetual cycle to be acknowledged by the B’nai/Children of Isra’el. They are signs given by the Almighty to show who His people are. If we disregard these moments declared by Yah, are we denying who our authority is? (see Vayikra/Leviticus chapter 23) Y’shua had an interesting conversation with a woman in Shomron/Samaria concerning who her people actually worshiped.

Therefore when the Lord knew that the Perushim had heard that Yeshua was making and immersing more talmidim than Yochanan (although Yeshua himself didn’t immerse, but his talmidim), he left Yehudah, and departed into the Galil. He needed to pass through Shomron. So he came to a city of Shomron, called Shekhem, near the parcel of ground that Ya’akov gave to his son, Yosef. Ya’akov’s well was there. Yeshua therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman of Shomron came to draw water. Yeshua said to her, “Give me a drink.” For his talmidim had gone away into the city to buy food. The Shomroni woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Yehudi, ask for a drink from me, a Shomroni woman?” (For Yehudim have no dealings with Shomroni.) Yeshua answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From where then have you that living water? Are you greater than our father, Ya`akov, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his sons, and his cattle?” Yeshua answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.” Yeshua said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Yeshua said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.” The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Yehudim say that in Yerushalayim is the place where people ought to worship.” Yeshua said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Yerushalayim, will you worship the Father. You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Yehudim. But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah comes,” (he who is called Anointed One). “When he has come, he will declare to us all things.” Yeshua said to her, “I am he, the one who speaks to you.” Yochanan/John 4:1-26 (HNV)

One of the instructions given concerning the feast is that we are to observe them as reminders of who we serve and whose Kingdom we are part of. We are to keep them in all our dwellings, this can imply not only our personal home but where-ever Isra’el abides on the earth. It is believed to be one of the signs of the impending reunification of the WHOLE HOUSE OF ISRA’EL, that the times will begin to be acknowledged by the Lost Sheep. It is why so many believe we are in the Acharit HaYamim/Last Days of this age. All things must be restored to the way they were intended to be as in the beginning.

How many really attempt to worship the Father? Worshiping is not a gathering of people, it is doing the will of the one being declared to be our authority. Mind games do not constitute worship … nor do feelings meet this definition. Doing something is required of those who claim to worship anything. Action is the premise of worship.

Yeshua declared publicly, “Those who put their trust in me are trusting not merely in me, but in the One who sent me. Also those who see me see the One who sent me. I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who trusts in me might not remain in the dark. If anyone hears what I am saying and does not observe it, I don’t judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. Those who reject me and don’t accept what I say have a judge — the word which I have spoken will judge them on the Last Day. For I have not spoken on my own initiative, but the Father who sent me has given me a command, namely, what to say and how to say it. And I know that his command is eternal life. So what I say is simply what the Father has told me to say.” Yochanan 12:44-50 (CJB)

As we have pointed out numerous times, the Master himself confessed that the words he spoke were the words of his Father. By his own testimony, Y’shua either is proclaiming Torah or is a liar … which would make him a sinner. This is because he would be baring false witness if he nullified anything Moshe was charged to deliver to the people of Isra’el. Sha’ul/Paul would also be guilty of this same offense had he taught against Torah. So, if the Teacher tells us to do what he says to do … as it is the will of his Father for his people, then why do we not do so?

And to Mosheh He said, “Come up to יהוה, you and Aharon, Naḏaḇ and Aḇihu, and seventy of the elders of Yisra’ĕl, and you shall bow yourselves from a distance. But Mosheh shall draw near to יהוה by himself, and let them not draw near, nor let the people go up with him.” And Mosheh came and related to the people all the Words of יהוה and all the right-rulings. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the Words which יהוה has spoken we shall do.” And Mosheh wrote down all the Words of יהוה, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve standing columns for the twelve tribes of Yisra’ĕl. And he sent young men of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and they offered burnt offerings and slaughtered peace slaughterings of bulls to יהוה. And Mosheh took half the blood and put it in basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that יהוה has spoken we shall do, and obey.” And Mosheh took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “See, the blood of the covenant which יהוה has made with you concerning all these Words.” And Mosheh went up, also Aharon, Naḏaḇ, and Aḇihu, and seventy of the elders of Yisra’ĕl, and they saw the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, and under His feet like a paved work of sapphire stone, and like the heavens for brightness. Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the chiefs of the children of Yisra’ĕl! And they saw Elohim, and they ate and drank. And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there, while I give you tablets of stone, and the Torah and the command which I have written, to teach them.” And Mosheh arose with his assistant Yehoshua, and Mosheh went up to the mountain of Elohim. And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we come back to you. And see, Aharon and Ḥur are with you. Whoever has matters, let him go to them.” And Mosheh went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain. And the esteem of יהוה dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. And on the seventh day He called to Mosheh out of the midst of the cloud. And the appearance of the esteem of יהוה was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain, before the eyes of the children of Yisra’ĕl. And Mosheh went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And it came to be that Mosheh was on the mountain forty days and forty nights. Sh’mot 24:1-18 (ISR98)

Interestingly Moshe read all the words of the B’rit/Covenant to the people and they responded that they would do all Yah said. All the Eternal said is contained in the section we know as chapters 20 through 23 of Sh’mot. After offerings were slaughtered and presented, Moshe put half the blood in containers while the other half he sprinkled on the altar. The blood in the receptacles he sprinkles on the people and reminds them it is the blood of the B’rit, that the Almighty has made with them.

When Abba calls Moshe back up the mountain He informs him He will give him tablets of stone on which He will write instructions and commands. It is the opinion of Yachad Qahal that Yah wrote the four chapters mentioned in the previous paragraph on those tablets. The Eternal spends far to much time with Moshe for the instructions to be given to his people in such a vague manner … for just the Ten Words to be the entire Torah. All the information the Father provides us with is so that we are not ignorant of His character – which He desires us to emulate.

One point Yah makes over and over to Isra’el is that we are not to exchange His rules for the laws other nations follow. Once we abandon the system of the Eternal, we are guilty of treason … when we attempt to implement something other than the Torah for Isra’el. There is not one country on the face of planet earth that does what Moshe was charged with, to establish the way of life for the descendants of Ya’akov.

What does Yah declare Isra’el to be? Since the Contract with the Almighty is for the people He Himself chose to represent Him … where is the B’rit with the sons of Ya’akov abolished? Remember the warning of Y’shua concerning those who pretend to serve his Father … but are actually disobedient. The Master tells them he will deny that he knows them as they are Torahless/Lawless. Are these the words that anyone who drinks the cup would want to hear from their Master?
