WHOSE WILL ARE EWE PURSUING?

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Mattityahu/Matthew 6:9b-13 (NIV) How many people use this prayer, or a pattern of it, on a daily basis but never consider what the Father’s will is? Y’shua tells us time after time that he only does his Father’s will. If the Word is Elohim/Authority from the beginning, then he is in B’resheit/Genesis chapter 1. The Creator is the aspect we know as Y’shua, so what do we do with B’resheit 2:1-3, where we are informed that He rested after completing His work. With the understanding of who the Creator is, we can proceed with what day He rested. Remember the Architect/Planner is the Father and everything is done according to His design.

Let us now move forward to a period where the children of Isra’el are in the wilderness after leaving Mitzrayim/Egypt. Afterward all the Congregation of the children of Israel departed from Elim, and came to the wilderness of Sin, (which is between Elim and Sinai) the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. And the whole Congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses, and against Aaron in the wilderness. For the children of Israel said to them, Oh that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, when we ate bread our bellies full: for ye have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole company with famine. Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will cause bread to rain from heaven to you, and the people shall go out, and gather that that is sufficient for every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law or no. But the sixth day they shall prepare that, which they shall bring home, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily. Then Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even ye shall know, that the Lord brought you out of the land of Egypt: And in the morning ye shall see the glory of the Lord: for he hath heard your grudgings against the Lord: and what are we that ye have murmured against us? Again, Moses said, At even shall the Lord give you flesh to eat, and in the morning your fill of bread: for the Lord hath heard your murmurings, which ye murmur against him: for what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord. And Moses said to Aaron, Say unto all the Congregation of the children of Israel, Draw near before the Lord: for he hath heard your murmurings. Now as Aaron spake unto the whole Congregation of the children of Israel, they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in a cloud. (For the Lord had spoken unto Moses, saying, I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: tell them therefore, and say, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread, and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God.) And so at even the quails came and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that was fallen was ascended, behold, a small round thing was upon the face of the wilderness, small as the hoary frost upon the earth. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is Manna, for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat. This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded: gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for a man according to the number of your persons: every man shall take for them which are in his tent. And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. And when they did measure it with an omer, he that had gathered much, had nothing over, and he that had gathered little, had no lack: so every man gathered according to his eating. Moses then said unto them, Let no man reserve thereof till morning. Notwithstanding, they obeyed not Moses: but some of them reserved of it till morning, and it was full of worms, and stank: therefore Moses was angry with them. And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: for when the heat of the sun came, it was melted. And the sixth day they gathered twice so much bread, two omers for one man: then all the rulers of the Congregation came and told Moses. And he answered them, This is that which the Lord hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the Lord: bake that today which ye will bake, and seethe that which ye will seethe, and all that remaineth, lay it up to be kept till the morning for you. And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade, and it stank not, neither was there any worm therein. Then Moses said, Eat that today: for today is the Sabbath unto the Lord: today ye shall not find it in the field. Six days shall ye gather it, but in the seventh day is the Sabbath: in it there shall be none. Notwithstanding, there went out some of the people in the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. And the Lord said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments, and my laws? Behold, how the Lord hath given you the Sabbath: therefore he giveth you the sixth day bread for two days: tarry therefore every man in his place: let no man go out of his place the seventh day. So the people rested the seventh day. And the house of Israel called the name of it Manna, and it was like to coriander seed, but white: and the taste of it was like unto wafers made with honey. And Moses said, This is that which the Lord had commanded, Fill an omer of it, to keep it for your posterity: that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt. Moses also said to Aaron, Take a pot and put an omer full of Manna therein, and set it before the Lord to be kept for your posterity. As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony to be kept. And the children of Israel did eat Manna forty years, until they came unto a land inhabited: they did eat Manna until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan. The omer is the tenth part of the Ephah. Sh’mot/Exodus 16:1-36 (GNV)

The Eternal instructs Moshe (in red) that the people are to gather the manna 6 days, then rest on the 7th day. Yah promises that what they pick up the 6th day will carry them through 2 days of meals … this is a matter of TRUSTING Him. This issue of trusting is reiterated by the Most High (in magenta) by telling them it will cease to be available in the heat of the day. Unlike the other 5 days of the week, leaving it overnight on the 6th day did not cause it to rot. Once again trust is the lesson being taught by the Almighty. Also setting apart the 7th day/Shabat is making it a SPECIAL DAY every week. He gave Isra’el, Shabat as a memorial for eternity.

“Remember the day of the Sabbath, to consecrate it. Six days you will work, and you will do all your work. But the seventh day [is] a Sabbath for Yahweh your God; you will not do any work–you or your son or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your animal, or your alien who [is] in your gates– because [in] six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that [is] in them, and on the seventh day he rested. Therefore Yahweh blessed the seventh day and consecrated it.” Sh’mot 20:8-11 (LEB) Take note that the aspect of Yah we know as the Creator, is Y’shua; therefore keeping/remembering Shabat is honoring the work of the Son carrying out the Father’s wishes. So how can we claim that those who believe Y’shua is the promised Mashiach/Messiah, have the audacity to change the day we honor him? Take for example someone who is born on the 23rd day of October, would they be pleased to have their day of birth acknowledged on the 17th day of the 2nd month of the common calendar. Would they not be enamored with this?

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily ye shall keep my sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Jehovah who sanctifieth you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Jehovah: whosoever doeth any work on the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. Sh’mot 31:12-17 (ASV) Take into account profaning the Shabat and being in the Covenant bring on the death penalty. This is an EVERLASTING sign of being part of the Agreement with Yah. Everlasting means forever, never ending, without end, etc.

“Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.”
Sh’mot 35:2-3 (ESV)
This is the 2nd time the Eternal states violation of Shabat brings on the death penalty. Remember in B’resheit 41:32, Yosef informs Pharaoh that the reason his two dreams are so similar, is because Yah has established that this WILL happen according to what his dreams revealed. When Yah declares something twice it is firmly entrenched as fact.

And YAHWEH spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them, The set feasts of YAHWEH which you shall proclaim as holy gatherings, shall be these: These are My appointed feasts: Work is to be done six days, and on the seventh day shall be a Sabbath of rest, a holy gathering; you shall do no work; it is a Sabbath to YAHWEH in all your dwellings.
Vayikra/Leviticus 23:1-3 (HRB)
There are 8 times referred to as the Mo’edim in Torah, the number one is Shabat; which occurs every seven days. This premise is established in B’resheit chapters 1 & 2; where Yah proclaims the 7 day weekly cycle.

“Behold, days are coming”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they broke My covenant, though I was a husband to them.” it is a declaration of Adonai. “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“I will put My Torah within them. Yes, I will write it on their heart. I will be their God and they will be My people. No longer will each teach his neighbor or each his brother, saying: ‘Know Adonai,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.” it is a declaration of Adonai. “For I will forgive their iniquity, their sin I will remember no more.” Thus says Adonai, who gives the sun as a light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars as a light by night, who stirs up the sea so its waves roar, Adonai-Tzva’ot is His Name: Only if this fixed order departs from before Me”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“then also might Israel’s offspring cease from being a nation before Me—for all time.” Thus says Adonai: “Only if heaven above can be measured and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then also I will cast off the offspring of Israel—for all they have done.” It is a declaration of Adonai. Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 31:31-37 (TLV)

If the Renewed Covenant is with the house of Isra’el and the house of Y’hudah/Judah, how can those who still declare themselves to be gentiles lay claim to being in this Covenant? They have no legal right to make such an outlandish declaration. Let us examine how ludicrous this claim is by using the example of being a citizen of a country … yet stating they are under the laws of another country that is an antagonist to the first country. This scenario would be similar to one group of people coming into another land, taking that land away from the native inhabitants and then crying foul if another group tries to impose the same domination the first group did. Is this not the definition of hypocrisy? Why are so many afraid of any other people, if we claim to TRUST the Most High? Is it because we are not seeking justice ourselves?

According to the Eternal, if the sun, moon, and stars, are no longer there … then there is no New Covenant/Testament. Y’shua himself validates this: “Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill. For most assuredly, I tell you, until heaven and eretz pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished. Whoever, therefore, shall break one of these least mitzvot, and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Mattityahu 5:17-19 (HNV) By this very statement, the Teacher is stating if Heaven and Earth were to pass away, then so would he. You might ask how I can make such a bold statement. It is based on Yochanan’s/John’s Good News chapter 1:1-3; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (NKJV)

How ironic that proclaiming “Jesus” did away with the need to keep Torah will also do away with our hope. The Word is what brought everything into existence and is what holds everything together. Also remember that Moshe called Heaven and Earth as witnesses concerning Isra’el’s Covenant with Yah. In Yirmeyahu 31:36 (mentioned above) the one that declares the laws of the Kingdom proclaims if those laws ever go away, there is no New Covenant/Testament. Stating that the Eternal’s Way has been changed, does away with the validity of the New Testament also. Does this not present a huge quandary to the anti-law mentality?

Ya’akov broke the silence to reply. “Brothers,” he said, “hear what I have to say. Shim’on has told in detail what God did when he first began to show his concern for taking from among the Goyim a people to bear his name. And the words of the Prophets are in complete harmony with this for it is written, ‘”After this, I will return; and I will rebuild the fallen tent of David. I will rebuild its ruins, I will restore it, so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, that is, all the Goyim who have been called by my name,” says ADONAI, who is doing these things.’ All this has been known for ages. “Therefore, my opinion is that we should not put obstacles in the way of the Goyim who are turning to God. Instead, we should write them a letter telling them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from fornication, from what is strangled and from blood. For from the earliest times, Moshe has had in every city those who proclaim him, with his words being read in the synagogues every Shabbat.” Acts 15:13-21 (CJB)

If you were never part of M’lech/King David’s reign, then how can you claim you are part of the restoration of the fallen tent? Notice the Goyim/Gentiles will be going to the synagogue every Shabat to hear Moshe/Torah read. How many are taught that the Sabbath is whatever day they want it to be … in remembrance of “Jesus” death? This is based on the misunderstanding of the 8th day; which signifies new beginning, not a different Covenant. [And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said: Take this, and divide it among you. “For I say to you, That I shall not drink of the product of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.] And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to them, and said: This is my body, which is given for your sakes. This do ye, in remembrance of me. And in like manner also concerning the cup, after they had supped, he said: This cup is the new testament in my blood, which, for your sakes, is poured out!” Luke 22:17-20 (Murdock) Once again the Master expresses that he is the one they are coming into agreement with, by the consuming of the two elements … and who does the Teacher represent?

For as the new heaven and the new earth, which I make, remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name continue. And it shall come to pass from month to month, and from sabbath to sabbath, that all flesh shall come to worship before me in Jerusalem, saith the Lord. And they shall go forth, and see the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched; and they shall be a spectacle to all flesh. Yesha’yahu/Isaiah 66:22-24 (LXX-Brenton) How many do not like this passage as it reaffirms Yah’s Shabat? But this is from the “Old Testament”, “it is no longer valid”. Says who?

And I saw a renewed heaven and a renewed earth, for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. And I, Yoḥanan, saw the set-apart city, renewed Yerushalayim, coming down out of the heaven from Elohim, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the heaven saying, “See, the Booth of Elohim is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and Elohim Himself shall be with them and be their Elohim. And Elohim shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying. And there shall be no more pain, for the former matters have passed away.” And He who was sitting on the throne said, “See, I make all matters new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and trustworthy.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End. To the one who thirsts I shall give of the fountain of the water of life without payment. The one who overcomes shall inherit all this, and I shall be his Elohim and he shall be My son. But as for the cowardly, and untrustworthy, and abominable, and murderers, and those who whore, and drug sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the false, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.” And one of the seven messengers who held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and spoke with me, saying, “Come, I shall show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the set-apart Yerushalayim, descending out of the heaven from Elohim, having the esteem of Elohim, and her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal, and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written on them, which are those of the twelve tribes of the children of Yisra’ĕl: three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve emissaries of the Lamb. And he who spoke with me had a golden measuring rod, to measure the city, and its gates, and its wall. And the city lies four-cornered, and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the rod: two thousand two hundred kilometres – the length, and the breadth, and height of it are equal. And he measured its wall: sixty-five metres, according to the measure of a man, that is, of a messenger. And the structure of its wall was jasper. And the city was clean gold, like clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls – each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was clean gold, like transparent glass. And I saw no Dwelling Place in it, for יהוה Ěl Shaddai is its Dwelling Place, and the Lamb. And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it, for the esteem of Elohim lightened it, and the Lamb is its lamp. And the gentiles, of those who are saved, shall walk in its light, and the sovereigns of the earth bring their esteem into it. And its gates shall not be shut at all by day, for night shall not be there. And they shall bring the esteem and the appreciation of the gentiles into it. And there shall by no means enter into it whatever is unclean, neither anyone doing abomination and falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Chazon/Revelation 21:1-27 (ISR98)

When the Heaven and Earth are refreshed, the gentiles live outside the city gates. According to traditional theology, they are in hell … but they bring gifts to the city, how can this be? Maybe some teachers have some things wrong when it comes to Scripture. This in no way lets us off the hook if we never choose to examine those accounts ourselves. We should be like the Bereans and examine the Tanakh to see if the B’rit Chadashah lines up with the rest of the Word. Who has believed this report?

To many people claim the first century writings are not to be taken at face value … why? It is because the Gnostic writings have been given more value even though they are in complete disagreement with the foundation of our faith; which is that Tanakh/Old Testament.
