In the beginning (see Genesis 1:1) was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. He was in the beginning with Elohim. All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be. Yochanan/John 1:1-3 (ISR98)
The Torah is the first five books of the Bible. The Torah and the Word are synonymous with each other. If the Torah is done away with then so is the Word, who we know is Y’shua (Jesus). Therefore to say the Torah is done away with is a false teaching.
Do not think that I came to annul the Torah or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill. Truly I say to you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, in no way shall one yod or one stroke pass away from the Torah until all comes to pass. Therefore, whoever loosens one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the worst in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven. Mattityahu/Matthew 5:17-19 (HRB)
Why would Y’shua say that he did not come to destroy the Torah or the Prophets but then do that very thing? That is contradictory. Heaven and earth will never pass away because the Torah will never pass away … WHY? Because of what Y’shua said of himself:
Yeshua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Yochanan/John 14:6 (HNV)
What did Y’shua (Jesus) mean when He said these things?
The definitions of words (meanings) that are in the B’rit Chadashah (commonly called NT) can only be found in the Tanakh (commonly called OT).
What is the WAY?
(Alef) How happy are those whose way of life is blameless, who live by the Torah of ADONAI! Tehillim/Psalm 119:1 (CJB)
The WAY is Torah!
What is the TRUTH?
Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and your Torah is truth.
Tehillim/Psalm119:142 (Halleluyah Scriptures)
The TRUTH is Torah!
What is LIGHT and LIFE?
For the mitzvah is a lamp, Torah is light, and reproofs that discipline are the way to life. Mishlei/Proverbs 6:23 (CJB)
The LIGHT and LIFE is Torah!
Y’shua is the aspect of Elohim that created everything.
And the Word became flesh and took up residence among us, and we saw his glory, glory as of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth. Yochanan/John1:14 (LEB)
The Word is the Torah.
Y’shua (Jesus) was saying that He is the Living Torah.
If a person claims that the Torah was done away with … then they are claiming that Y’shua did away with Himself.
