The Covenant: Shabat, The Sign For Yosef

Ya’akov’s trouble continues with the selling of Yosef. Yosef goes down into Egypt and establishes a reputation as an honest worker. Y’hudah experiences his own turn about. Yosef is falsely accused by his masters wife and is imprisoned. Yosef is given the interpretation of two dreams which sets the stage for next weeks reading. Yosef’s saga continues into today through his descendents and their decisions with all their consequences. They are waiting the Exodus again and are battling idolatry. This is the same old story that begins with Avraham’s father Terach.
